One of the most iconic actors of the 20th Century, Steve McQueen was also a star member of Team USA’s 1964 International Six Day Trials squad. The obvious face of the team, Steve was never seen in anything but a range of Barbour International jackets, a union the South Shields-based label have embraced. Now in its second season, the collection comprises of a range of jackets from the International range, all of which are finished with the Stars and Stripe patch to the left chest. The stand-out piece is quite rightly, the Baker Jacket, which is based on Barbour’s original A7 International motorcycle jacket; constructed from heavyweight 8oz waxed cotton with a quilted American flag lining. The jackets are complemented neatly with an assortment of knitwear, shirts and printed tees, all of which imbue a definite touch of McQueen’s sense of style. The collection is rounded off with a superb holdall inspired by the McQueen masterpiece ‘Bullitt’, utilising the shape and design of Barbour’s famous waxed holdall. - Endclothing
