GANT Rugger Fall / Winter 2012 Lookbook

First things first, we take a look at this huge lookbook for Fall Winter 2012 from Gant Rugger. An excellent collection of smarter looks without any stuffiness or formality. Suits, slim but not skinny, in some great wool fabrics alongside camel overcoats, wintery knits and impressive accessories. A meeting of American classics and that Pitti Blazer-centric approach. Second order of business. Gant introduce the ‘Cook GANT Rugger‘ project. The beginnings of what will eventually become a cookbook, designer Christopher Bastin shares some of his favourite recipes and encourages us, the general public, to submit our own. As you may remember in our preview, Fall 2012 has apparently been hugely influenced by food, the New York downtown restaurant scene and a selection of chefs turned models. We’ll let you head over to the site and figure it all out for yourself.

J.Lindeberg 2013 Spring/Summer Collection

“Sweden from above” provided the inspiration for J.Lindeberg‘s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. As seen through the Swedish label’s design lens, this bird’s eye view of the country translated to clean lines, watery shades of blue, forest hues, and sandy neutrals. Black leather and bright flashes of orange, meanwhile, hinted at other, slightly less rustic influences — in this case, motorcycle culture. Long a Lindeberg affinity, biker jackets came in nylon-lined makeups, layered under and over suit jackets. Speaking of suits, there was an increased emphasis on tailoring for the new collection — as CEO Stefan Engström had pronounced earlier, “We want to really establish ourselves as a Scandinavian fashion house.” This meant slim-cut suits with high armholes, many of them double-breasted, showing a renewed initiative towards higher levels of sartorial relevance.
