Although this release was more than a year ago, i decided to re-post this because it happens to be one of my favorite Rolex lines of all time. London’s Project  X Designs delivers some “sub” takes on the Rolex Submariner models. Three Submariners mods are part of the series: the Mk III, Mk IV, and Mk V. “The Mk III pays homage to the Submariner worn by Sean Connery in the 1950s Bond movies; the Bond character was originally a former SBS commando.” The Mk IV comes in on the darker end of the scale with a black carbon casing and a blacked out face, while the Mk V was created for a “subtle and sophisticated contrast to the Submariner models.. the case is satin finished before being treated with a hard-wearing black DLC.”

The new Classic is Frederique Constant’s first timekeeper, which features their revised automatic caliber FC-710. The classic totally meets what the name suggests with striking a well-organized appearance led by a circular 42mm case either made of stainless steel or in a rosegold plated version. The decisively classy dial displays roman numerals, guilloche decoration, hand polished black oxidized hands and a date counter at 6 o’clock whilst the aforementioned caliber runs on 26 jewels and provides a power reserve of 42 hours.

France and Los Angeles based watch makers MARCH LA.B have once again teamed up with Colette for the release of their new military inspired AM3 Legionnaire edition timepiece. Inspired by the French Foreign Legion and their history of modifying their field uniforms and adapting to different weather extremes, the olive drab or khaki was used for close range battles during the mid twentieth century. The AM3 Legionnaire utilizes different shades of khaki across its sundial and hand made Louisiana Alligator strap. As with all their Automatic pieces they take advantage of the ETA 2892-A Swiss Movement, a proven Industry standard that ensures absolute precision. Colette and MARCH LA.B have previously collaborated on the Imperial Phantom Pocket Watch and with the AM3 Legionnaire they continue to show 'esprit de corps'.
