“Sweden from above” provided the inspiration for J.Lindeberg‘s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. As seen through the Swedish label’s design lens, this bird’s eye view of the country translated to clean lines, watery shades of blue, forest hues, and sandy neutrals. Black leather and bright flashes of orange, meanwhile, hinted at other, slightly less rustic influences — in this case, motorcycle culture. Long a Lindeberg affinity, biker jackets came in nylon-lined makeups, layered under and over suit jackets. Speaking of suits, there was an increased emphasis on tailoring for the new collection — as CEO Stefan Engström had pronounced earlier, “We want to really establish ourselves as a Scandinavian fashion house.” This meant slim-cut suits with high armholes, many of them double-breasted, showing a renewed initiative towards higher levels of sartorial relevance.

Vintage, Miansai and Lifetime Collective. Our Legacy continues to express control in their designs never edging too far away from their Scandinavian roots. Garments express change in color material while the shapes and fits remain safe for most. Patterned prints on suits and PJ’s may work for some. Corter Leather is a super-small, one man operation. Every product is 100% hand made by maker Eric Heins in a small apartment studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Each piece is designed in house, cut by memory, hand punched, and hand sewn. Templates are never made, so no two pieces perfectly alike.

Among the various magazine editorials out there representing WTAPSGRIND‘s are perhaps the best at conveying how a WTAPS photoshoot should be done. This month is no exception, with another solid production that features Japanese actor Jun Murakami. Everyone knows by now that a WTAPS collection means a range of military-inspired garments, and this season doesn’t disappoint. The emphasis is on outerwear, with particular focus given to one of this season’s standout pieces: the ¥210,000 JPY (approximately $2,680 USD) horse leather DAS BOOT jacket, along with the BLACKWATCH Melton wool pea coat, MA-1 and B-9 jackets. Rings, necklaces and another look at the WTAPS x WOLF’s HEAD collaboration belt help complement the looks perfectly. The 2012 fall/winter “YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE” collection from WTAPS is available now at the GIP-STORE, HOODS stores and all other WTAPS stockists worldwide.
