This season, Club Monaco marries smartly tailored pieces with a touch of casual ease to create the perfect transitional wardrobe. Each piece maintains a careful balance of structure and softness that can easily adapt to the various moods and swings of autumn weather. The focus remains heavy on color, texture andprints – with inspiration from Linda McCartney’s Life in Photographs, Sonia Delaunay’s masterful block prints and the leading men of the Silent Generation. This season’s menswear collection takes a cue from iconic, sophisticated artists—George Harrison, Gregory Peck, Hunter S. Thompson, to name a few— and revisits their timeless elegance. Our take on this impossibly cool style includes adding a soft edge to our favorite closet staples.  Classic blazers, cable-knit wools and lightweight tweeds in a sophisticated palette remain at the heart of the collection, but their cozy fabrics generate a casual vibe, perfect for dressing up or down.  Each piece is sensible, but is always made with a hint of warmth and whimsy.

All Available now at Club Monaco

When we last checked in with LA based label Beautiful Fül we were given a glimpse into their very promising Fall/Winter collection, one we were eagerly awaiting its arrival. Well that time is finally here as we are now given a proper look into the visual direction for this upcoming season via the lens and garbs of Beautiful Fül. The beauty of the collection lies within its refine approach to carefully thought-out advancements of classic silhouettes, elevating the profile of the classic button down, Moto Jacket, and Varsity Jacket. The hands down stand-out piece would have to be the masterfully constructed washed lambskin dress shirt that, despite its undeniable style, could make a whole lot of sense as a insulation base layer for those winter months; just saying. Look for the collection to become available in the coming months.

Berluti’s second ready-to-wear collection is a predictably swanky affair. Leather, nubuck, suede, originally boot-makers these guys know how to create beautiful things from hide. Hand woven detail, Japanese denim, hand painted seams, tailored jackets, cashmere, gabardine, mohair… Described as “masculine elegance with a fifties feel”,  luxury menswear indeed.

Japan’s Edwin has unveiled its lookbook for 2013 spring/summer portrayed in the vantage point of a road-tripping crew of riders. Unabashedly revealing the preferred pastime of American author Ken Keseye, classic styling is central to this collection while durable Japanese fabrics are also a mainstay of each garment. Expanding on the label’s foundation in denim, we see a selection of five-pocket fits in combination with various jean-jacket pieces. Further rounding out the release; a partnership with Paris-based Blitz brings further visual appeal to the lookbook with the inclusion of custom hand-finished motorcycles.

Levi’s Vintage Clothing present another hardback version of their lookbook, one for the collector’s. We’d been told by the guys at LVC a while back that Fall/Winter would have a motorcycle theme, the images suggest they’ve taken the Rocker route for both men’s and womenswear – so, plenty of leather, decorated sleeveless denim jackets and jeans ready for the turn-up. That’s half the story. The collection also takes on the world of boxing, perhaps less the sport and more the culture around it. Flat caps, grandad shirts, fitted knitwear and the return of the shawl collar coat. Another top season from the experts at LVC, the lookbook is available here.
