The first part of this season’s highly anticipated collection from Junya Watanabe sees the Comme des Garcons designer working with French workwear studio Hervier, recreating a number of classic silhouettes in Junya’s typically innovative and considered style. Utilising archive fabrics the collection introduces a number of new ideas to heritage pieces such as work jackets and hooded parkas, with the addition of corduroy collars and pocket panels, as well as contrasting paisley linings. Junya continues his long running collaboration with Levi’s, with a stunning take on a classic denim jacket. This archive jacket has been given a work wear twist, with the additional of several stitched panels, a cord collar and leather chest pocket. The jacket is finished with a typically Junya checked wool panel insert on the back.
