The Coggles buying team head over to Stockholm to check out Fall Winter 2013 at the Our Legacy studio. ‘The Official‘ collection on view, inspiration is taken from uniform and the idea of dressing to convey authority and power. As usual some great prints across shirts and tees, a standout for the season comes in the form of ‘Hair on Hide’ outerwear – pony hair transformed into a smart leather jacket.
Swedish brand Our Legacy places special importance on timeless garments, hitting that mark yet again with their Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The company released a short film, “Official,” which previews highlights from the collection. Set to a sparse, atmospheric beat, a minimalist tone is echoed throughout both the visuals and the range itself. Our Legacy prefers a dark, streamlined and tightly-buttoned aesthetic here, with the color palette mainly consisting of dark blue, black and cream shades. Our Legacy continues to express control in their designs never edging too far away from their Scandinavian roots. Garments express change in color material while the shapes and fits remain safe for most. Patterned prints on suits and PJ’s may work for some. The collection is based around essential, staple garments that make up the backbone of any man’s wardrobe, as well as handily complementing some of the more daring pieces.As usual, designers Cristopher Nying and Jockum Hallin have made shirting the base of the collection, producing classic, timeless pieces in a range of washes and materials that stick religiously to the simple, sharp aesthetic you come to expect from the Stockholm-based label. The silhouettes have been limited to three of Our Legacy’s best; the 1940s, thwe 1950s and the ever-popular Generation Shirt. Sitting alongside the shirting is the Great Sweat. One of the most versatile pieces of a man’s wardrobe, the sweater is available in a casual Washed Purple as well as the luxurious Navy Silk, constructed from a premium cotton/silk mix fabric which has a worn-in, easy-to-wear look. Rounding off the ‘Everyman’ range is the Classic Chino, made from a durable Portuguese Cotton Twill with a heavy vintage wash which adds a touch of functionality to the collection. - via End Clothing
