Raised by Wolves has released their Spring / Summer 2012 Drop and one of the key eye-catching products that we wanted to feature on Anchor Division was their Hickory Waxed 5 panel hat. Solid construction with waxed cotton from Scotland and Made in the USA, these were all sold out pretty quick through the Raised by Wolves online shop. Fortunately, there are still a bunch left in Persona Premium Goods in Nashua, NH. Grab them while you still can.

Persona Premium Goods – Nashua, NH

Posted on May 15th, by Jamison Aweau in Menswear, Streetwear. No Comments

For about 5-6 months now, i’ve recently been working along side my buddy Jeremy who runs Persona Premium goods in Nashua, NH and Lowell, MA. The Lowell mass store is geared more towards streetwear and the Nashua store, although carrying tons of streetwear, have opened accounts with many menswear-worthy brands. We have been doing quite a bit of teamwork to target a special group of people in the NH / MA who currently are looking for brands like Barbour, Marshall Artist, or Pendleton. I snapped a few pics of the store and some of the current items they have in stock. The store will be undergoing a transformation in the next few months due to opening new accounts and changing the whole aesthetic within.

Club Monaco Autumn 2012 Looks

Posted on May 14th, by Jamison Aweau in All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

A look at the first delivery from the Club Monaco Autumn 2012 collection. In their words: “This season’s menswear collection takes a cue from iconic, sophisticated artists—George Harrison, Gregory Peck, Hunter S. Thompson, to name a few— and revisits their timeless elegance. Our take on this impossibly cool style includes adding a soft edge to our favorite closet staples.” Look for blazers, cable knit sweaters and tweeds that round out the collection. Club Monaco Autumn 2012 works casually or in more formal affairs. Color, textures and prints make the collection proper for all.

Our Legacy ‘Everyman’ Collection

Posted on May 14th, by Jamison Aweau in All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

The collection is based around essential, staple garments that make up the backbone of any man’s wardrobe, as well as handily complementing some of the more daring pieces.
As usual, designers Cristopher Nying and Jockum Hallin have made shirting the base of the collection, producing classic, timeless pieces in a range of washes and materials that stick religiously to the simple, sharp aesthetic you come to expect from the Stockholm-based label. The silhouettes have been limited to three of Our Legacy’s best; the 1940s, thwe 1950s and the ever-popular Generation Shirt. Sitting alongside the shirting is the Great Sweat. One of the most versatile pieces of a man’s wardrobe, the sweater is available in a casual Washed Purple as well as the luxurious Navy Silk, constructed from a premium cotton/silk mix fabric which has a worn-in, easy-to-wear look. Rounding off the ‘Everyman’ range is the Classic Chino, made from a durable Portuguese Cotton Twill with a heavy vintage wash which adds a touch of functionality to the collection. – via End Clothing

Roy Denim Film By Cool Hunting – via the189

Posted on May 14th, by Jamison Aweau in All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

This project was a pleasant surprise as we take a return visit to the back streets of Oakland where denim guru Roy Slaper plys his trade. Cool Hunting have kindly put together this short film which provides somewhat of a summary of the work Roy undertakes in his studio, focusing in on the machinery he uses to create all the separate elements of his custom jeans, whilst reminding us all of the witty nature of Mr Slaper in the process.

We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak with Roy back last october when we put together a short interview which has to have been one of our most successful to date, people really love the guy. It’s hard not to appreciate his dedication and passion for making denim, if you think about it it’s pretty crazy that Roy literally knew the bare bones of making a pair of jeans a few years ago, to get to the stage he’s at now must have taken a serious labour of love.

You see exactly this in the range of antique machines that Roy has amounted over time, many of which he’s had to restore and fix himself learning everything from scratch as he … Read More »

Fashionary – Men’s and Women’s Sketchbook

Posted on May 13th, by Jamison Aweau in Accessories, All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

Fashionary has been on my radar for quite some time. I remember purchasing one from their founder, Penter Yip back in 2009/2010. They have since grown in an amazing way offering an assortment of different products. They made a smaller version of the original sketchbook (which has somewhat of a resemblance to Moleskine Journals). They also offer up memo sets and the current collaboration, Fashionary x Sibling boxset.

This notebook doesn’t just offer light templates to design your fashion ideas, it offers a large database of patterns, types of clothing / pieces, a list of bookmarks via internet sites, layout ideas for presentations and also, font type ideas for your fashion company. I’ve included a photo to give you an idea of the useful information offered in this notebook.

Fashion Designers, this is the perfect tool to keep your ideas all in one place. Check it out here

Betabrand develops options for when you don’t feel like wearing traditional slacks, but you still need to head to the office. It might just be a cure for the Fridays. An online-only clothing company based in San Francisco, they design, manufacture, and release new inventions every week.

The Executive Pinstripe Hoodie is crafted from 100% merino wool. Pretty clean cut, straight lines, a paisley cloth lining adds a touch of class. A rare product with a sense of humor, purpose, and good quality, all in one.

The Varsity Bike to Work Pants are black cotton-twill, offer a great fit, and flexible fabric. The lined pant cuffs are made of reflective material, perfect for rolling up.

They also offer Japants, which are American style trousers (cargo details), with a Tokyo fit. Also check out the Dress Pant Sweatpants, which are, as you can guess, some finely tailored,  comfy sweatpants.

BKLYN Dry Goods – blogging bloggers: spring’s picks, v.2

Recently featured in the awesome write-up by Jahn Hall of BKLYN Dry Goods Check out the rest here.

Here is an excerpt from his write up:

“Not sure how this was missed this yesterday, but it suddenly dawned on me that there’s something about writing a blog post about bloggers that seems to break some sort of time & space continuum.  I think the kids call it “meta”, a word that’s seems to have been reintroduced to the pop-culture lexicon of late.  Sure, it’s certainly not the first time journalists, for example, have featured the work of one of their own, however, more often than not, it’s done posthumously.  Props are props, but why not let your peers know they’re respected, admired, etc. before they’re no longer around to enjoy the public adoration?  Hence this post.

Again, we’ve been lucky enough to gather up a couple more folks from the interwebs we all know & love & asked them to share with us some of their top picks for the coming season figuring, honestly, they probably had better taste than us.  Today Jamison Aweau (Anchor Division) & Jake Gallagher (Wax Wane) drop some knowedge on their spring kit before we round up this three-part post on Monday with Brad Bennett (Well … Read More »

The Kings Point – Allen Edmonds

Posted on May 10th, by Deonte in All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

Allen Edmond called on students at Parsons The New School for Design to compete in a competition in honor of its 90th anniversary. Shoe designs by students Patrick McCabe and Melanie Berger were chosen to be featured as a special offer in an upcoming Allen Edmond collection.

Although McCabe’s Seventh Avenue shoe lived up to it’s winnings, it was Melanie’s “The Kings Point” that caught our eye because of it’s World War II inspired look.

The wingtip boot features an ankle strap, sterling silver hardware and military ranks on the bottom of  its heel.

A Guide to Pre-Owned Rolex Watches – Selectism

Posted on May 9th, by Jamison Aweau in Accessories, Menswear. No Comments

Purchasing a finely crafted watch, for many, is considered a high involvement decision and in some cases, can be regarded as a lifelong investment in both monetary and symbolic ways. That being said, we take a look at an everyday favorite in Rolex — a brand with an unwavering presence and relevance in the watchmaking industry — to highlight a few models worth examining based on different budgets. Aiding us with his expertise is Paul Alteri from Bob’s Watches, a highly reputable online exchange for pre-owned Rolex watches. For starters, we begin at the bottom of the scale as we look at getting the most out of our dollar through the pre-owned market; significant value can be found if you know where to look.

It often goes without saying — but, be cautious when it comes to online auction sites or classifieds. Alteri reminds us that sometimes you are not only buying a watch, but also the assurance and peace of mind that comes with a trusted dealer. Know who you are dealing with and find a dealer that has good reviews across the board while a stamp from the Better Business Bureau is often a worthwhile consideration. If you are cautious, … Read More »

1973 CL360 Cafe Racer and Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots

Posted on April 7th, by Jamison Aweau in All Posts, Menswear. No Comments

I decided to do a shoot on my cafe racer and my new pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots that Wolverine was nice enough to send me. The boots in a way symbolized an early era of riding while representing a classic feel just as the bike does. I’m looking foward to wearing them out while riding and showing them off. The beautiful smell of leather emits from these boots and each time i get a smell, its a great feeling of having quality products on my feet.

Walkthrough: Frank Clegg Leather Works

Posted on February 23rd, by Jamison Aweau in Accessories, Menswear. No Comments

I was honored to have been invited to Frank Clegg’s Workshop this weekend. It was on a Sunday afternoon and i really appreciated the fact that Frank was willing to go out of his way to meet, greet and get into great detail what he did for a living. I was highly impressed at the workshop alone but when he really showed me the full detail of his work and the thought and character he and him employees put into their products, i was in awe. Heres some of the photos with a brief description of what was in store for me.
